Getting started with Quality Custodian for Jira

 

Do you want to get more control over the work planned in Jira? Or are you struggling to find a way to improve data quality in Jira without frustrating your teams with blocking workflow validations?

Quality Custodian for Jira helps you getting your data quality in Jira on point and allows you to choose how strong these standards will be enforced!

  • You can define the quality standards for your team!

  • Teams will see how their issues score against these quality standards!

  • Teams do not have to be stopped in their process, but if needed, you can choose to!

Install the App

  1. Log in to your Jira Cloud instance as an administrator.

  2. Click the Settings icon  in the upper right corner and select Apps.

  3. Search for ‘quality custodian’ and select Quality Custodian for Jira.

  4. Click Try it free.

  5. Click Accept & Install to confirm the app installation.

  6. The system displays a progress message for the operation.

 


 

Set it up!

Once installed, you will get an extra menu option ‘Quality custodian for Jira’ in the Apps section of your Jira settings as well as in each Project settings.

  1. Create your first Quality standard. Click on Quality custodian for Jira (in Jira Admin or Project admin) and create your first Quality standard. See Manage Quality standards

  2. Add the Quality score fields to your screens to show the scores. See Fields Quality scores

View Quality standard scores in your Issues

On each issue, you will see the number of passed versus failed rules expressed in numbers:

And you can expand the full Quality standard scores panel by clicking on Apps > Quality standard scores in the issue (below the summary).
